What will you do?

As an Electrical Engineer at Alfen, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing electrical energy systems that play a crucial role in the energy transition. You will work with advanced software such as ETAP and provide technical solutions to ensure the safety and reliability of our systems. You will focus on our advanced energy storage systems (TheBattery) and ensure they function efficiently and reliably in line with customer needs and market standards.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Performing load flow and short-circuit analysis to optimize system performance, ensure voltage stability, and guarantee energy efficiency.
  • Developing and optimizing protective relay coordination studies using ETAP to prevent failures and minimize damage.
  • Providing technical recommendations and working on the design of safe and reliable energy systems in compliance with industry standards for grid safety.

What do we ask from you?

For a good match, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer with a hands-on, results-oriented, and structured approach. Someone who can solve technical issues and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Additionally:

  • A completed WTO degree in Electrical Engineering (Energy Technology).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in project-based work.
  • Experience with ETAP software for modeling and simulation of electrical systems.
  • Availability for at least 32 hours per week.
  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken.
