Join Alfen as a C# Engineer in the R&D & Engineering Department!

Contribute to innovative technologies that accelerate the global energy transition. Use your technical skills to build a sustainable future and grow with us!

What will you do?

As a C# Engineer with experience in OT and industrial automation, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced test solutions for our EV chargers at the end of the production line. Your software solutions will be written in C#, leveraging .NET frameworks, with some components running in the Azure cloud.

The software you develop in the morning could already be in use by the afternoon! Working closely with a team of engineers and technical experts, you will ensure that every EV charger is rigorously tested and meets the highest quality standards before leaving our factory.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Configuring test equipment and systems to verify the functionality and performance of our EV chargers.
  • Integrating test software with existing systems and hardware components.
  • Developing and executing automated test scripts to validate product functionality.
  • Working with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) solutions and integrating them into test processes.
  • Documenting the testing process, including test plans, procedures, and reports.

What do we expect from you?

We are looking for a driven professional with a hands-on mentality and strong analytical skills. You can quickly adapt within multidisciplinary project teams and effectively communicate with various departments, such as R&D, production, and quality control. You also enjoy working independently and are a true problem-solver.

We expect you to currently live in The Netherlands

Additionally, you have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with C#, .NET Framework, Azure, and preferably Python and C++.
  • Experience in a production environment, ideally in testing and automation.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation systems, such as PLCs, SCADA, and HMI.
  • Experience in developing user-friendly interfaces with WPF and Angular.

What do we offer you?

At Alfen, you will have an independent and responsible role, with room for your own input, new ideas, and initiatives. As a fast-growing company at the heart of the energy transition, we offer an open and informal work environment with ample opportunities for professional growth.

Our offer:

  • A competitive salary based on the CAO Metalektro.
  • 27 vacation days + 13 additional leave days (ADV) per year.
  • Hybrid working options (up to 2 days per week for a 40-hour workweek).
  • Pension contributions at PME Pension Fund, with Alfen covering more than half of the premium.
  • Company phone and laptop.
  • Unlimited free access to our online learning platform.
  • Engaged colleagues and social activities organized by AlFun and Young Alfen.
  • Free sports activities, including participation in marathons and tournaments.
  • Travel reimbursement of €0.23 per km, up to 50 km one-way.

Where will you be working?

At Alfen, you will be part of an organization that plays a key role in the energy transition. With in-house developed products and expertise as a system integrator, we are building the electricity grid of the future. Within the R&D & Engineering department, you will work in specialized teams that collaborate closely to bring innovative concepts and improvements to market quickly.
